I was out for a walk on the afternoon of Christmas Eve 2020 when I came upon a sign attached to a telephone pole, expounding upon the awesomeness of hamster by the name of Nibbler. I took a picture, shared it with my social media circle (5 people; 6 on a good day), and went on my way. A week later, I was walking by the same telephone poll when I noticed that the sign was gone! Nibbler was missing! So that night I made up a new sign, asking if anyone had seen the original sign. The next morning I attached it to the same telephone pole. Just to be clear: I have NOT removed any of the signs. I have never seen any of the signs being removed. I do not know the identity of the person(s) removing the signs. I just hope they're enjoying the silliness as much as I am... |

I was out for a walk in early December 2021, shortly after posting update #6, when I saw beneath my sheet, another notice, sadly announcing the passing of my favourite pet hamster. A few weeks later, both posters were gone. There will be no more signs from me. This seemed a good point to bring to an end the exercise in silliness and recursion. Upon closer examination of the sad notice, it would seem that the name of the hamster might not have been Nibbler. It might have been Nibbies, or even Nibbles. Whatever your real name, you were the most fun I've had from pet that I never even met... |
